Poplar’s girls’ wrestling team tied for second place in the team standings at the divisional meet with 109 points. The Indians tied with Fort Benton. Baker took first place with 150.5 points.

Two Poplar wrestlers earned individual divisional championships.

Angelina Escarcega captured the title at 100 pounds. The senior won on a 15-0 technical fall over Baker’s Emmalyn Miller in the championship match. Escarcega scored two other victories on pins.

Alara Cooper earned the title at 115 pounds. Cooper pinned CJI’s Kyra Anderson in 5:14 for the title. Cooper’s other victories came on a pin and technical fall.

Liberty Boadle took second place at 105 pounds. She won two matches during the divisional meet. Laityn Allen placed second at 110 pounds. Allen scored a pin at the meet.

Blake Follette took second place at 120 pounds. Follette earned wins on a pin and a decision at the meet.

Stacey Simons placed seventh at 170 pounds.

In the boys’ division, Navarjo Escarcega placed fourth at 138 pounds. The senior won two matches on technical falls and another on a pin.

Rollen Spotted Bull placed seventh at 285 pounds. He won one match on a pin.

Ezekial Gourneau took eighth place at 103 pounds.
