Play Auditions Set For March 10
An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre original adaptation of Hercules March 10 at the Old Armory in Culbertson from 1-3 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive at 12:45 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are the mighty Hercules, the philosophers Androcles, Socrates and Aristotle, Zeus, Hera and Helen of Troy, the announcers Homer and Archimedes, Pegasus, Lion, the hilarious cyclops, the savvy Influencers, the competitive Olympians, and the mighty Titans. All students ages kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery and props. MCT tour actor/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 2:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
Hercules will be presented on March 14 at 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Armory. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Culbertson is presented locally by the Culbertson School with support from the Washington Foundation Grant and many local community members.
