Bainville Beats Culbertson Girls

The Bainville Bulldogs knocked off Culbertson, 58-17, in the opening round of the District 2C girls’ basketball tournament on Wednesday.

The top-seeded Bulldogs gained a 17-6 advantage in the first quarter and increased the gap to 26-12 at the half.

Bainville then exploded for 27 points in the third quarter for a 53-17 margin.

Hailey Berwick led Bainville’s attack with 21 points. Elsie Wilson also reached double figures with 11 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Lila Butikofer with nine, Tally Berwick with eight, Addison Hansen with four, Jaylynn Bjorge with three and Jodi Albus with two.

Wilson accounted for three steals and three assists in the contest.

Leandra Perkins scored six points for the Cowgirls. Also scoring were Mariana Burciaga with four, Payton Labatte with two, Stella Fox with two, Ivy Colvin with two and Kalia Featherston with one.
