Froid/Lake Falls To Two Squads
Brockton downed Froid/ Lake, 58-45, in loser-out action at the District 2C boys’ basketball tournament Friday.
The Warriors gained a 15-7 lead in the first quarter. All of the Red Hawks’ points of the period were scored by Carsen Kelm.
Brockton accounted for the last eight points of the second period for a 23-13 halftime lead. The Warriors increased their lead to 45-30 in the third quarter. The Red Hawks came as close as seven points when Roberto Orozco hit a three-pointer during the game’s final minute.
Top scorers for Brockton were Josh Firemoon with 16 and Quannah First That Walks with 12. Also scoring were Jarid Fast Horse with nine, Colter Nygard with six, Kameron Rattling Thunder with six, Weston Lambert with four, Miles Boxer Jr. with three and Tefton Bear with two.
Reaching double figures for the Red Hawks were Rylan Young with 12, Kelm with 10 and Cody Olson with 10 points. Also scoring were R. Orozco with nine and Joseph Robertson with seven.
Robertson had five assists. Froid/Lake lost to top-seeded Plentywood, 63-21, in the first round on Thursday. Plentywood led by a 29-3 margin after the first quarter.
Young scored 12 points for the Red Hawks. Also scoring were Kelm with five, R. Orozco with two and Eduardo Orozco with two.
Carson Solberg scored 22 points for Plentywood.
